CXF Delivers Another Heavy Handed Night of Fights Punctuated by Another Memorable Main Event!

CXF 14: Boiling Point took place on August 25th in Studio City CA, and it didn’t take long for temperatures to peak as advertised. Heavy handed Marcus Sims (1-1 MMA) needed only :25 seconds and one hellacious combination to walk away with a victory in his CXF debut. Stalking from the opening bell Sims had his opponent Mackenzie Tucker (0-1) in all sorts of trouble as soon as as he touched him. After Tucker hit the deck early, Sims swarmed with volume on the ground prompting the referee to mercifully step in awarding Sims with the impressive TKO victory.

Winner: Marcus Sims (1-1 MMA) via TKO (:25 Rd 1).

The second bout of the evening featured a hotly contested back and forth welterweight war between Andreu Mendoza (1-0) and Cory Hall (1-2 MMA). Mendoza seemed to have the edge in with regards to the score cards early on in the three round affair but appeared to fade as the Hall began to charge late in the fight. In the end two of the judges saw fight for Mendoza awarding him with the split decision victory.

Winner: Andrew Mendoza (1-0 MMA) via split decision (29-28,28-29,29-28).

 The year-long layoff certainly didn’t leave any oxidation, as Arnold Jimenez (3-2 MMA) showed little rust dominating his opponent Mark Alvidrez (1-4 MMA) from stem to stern in their violent three round tango. Jimenez dominated the standup action, but seemed content to control Alvidrez on the mat as the fight wore on. Alvidrez proved quite swift in defense, avoiding many submission setups, but in the end the judges saw a dominant one-sided affair for Jimenez awarding him with the unanimous decision. .

Winner: Arnold Jimenez (3-2 MMA) via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-26, 30-27).

 Former Ukrainian national wrestler Mykola Aivazian (1-0 MMA) showcased that dominant grinding pedigree as he took Eric Rios (0-5 MMA) to the mat with the very first takedown attempt of the fight. Once on the mat, Aivazian showed a veterans’ patience as he maintained a dominant position without allowing Rios to transition. Rios did his best to keep the lights on, but eventually Aivazian was able to thread the choke in forcing the tap at 3:52 of the very first round.

Winner: Mykola Aivazian (1-0 MMA) via submission (rear naked choke 3:52 Rd 1).

Utilizing a variety of techniques Devon Brock (2-1 MMA) controlled Christian Bizzaretty (2-7 MMA) from the opening bell of their three round lightweight showdown. Utilizing his superior footwork, Brock kept moving in and landing effectively before exiting out of his longer opponents range without paying any rent. Bizzaretty did his best to stay in Brock’s face but his best moments were usually punctuated in counter by Brock who cruised to the unanimous decision victory.

Winner: Devon Brock (2-1 MMA) via unanimous decision (30-26, 29-27, 29-27).

 In just his second bout in five years, grappling ace Cooper Gibson (9-2 MMA) outlasted ‘tough as nails’ nor-cal native Samuel Alvarez (3-3 MMA) in a rather close three round lightweight war. Gibson came out on fire early and controlled Alvarez for most of the first round. The dominant ground attack continued in the second frame as well. However, after getting top position in the late in the frame, Gibson seemed to tire as Alvarez came to life. Working off his back Alvarez peppered Gibson with elbows and back fists. Although the accumulation of punches added up on the scorecards, they did little to capitalize on the tiring Gibson’s disposition. Alvarez had perhaps his best round in the third but it wasn’t enough to sway the judges as Gibson escaped with the close decision victory.

Winner: Cooper Gibson (9-2 MMA) via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

No matter how the yard is, eventually the two biggest dogs are going to find each other and when they do, all hell is going to break loose. Perhaps that is the best way to describe what happened when Richard Leroy (7-1 MMA) and Gabriel Green (8-2 MMA) squared off inside the CXF cage. The entire Sportsmen’s Lodge crowd was on their feet from the opening bell as Green and Leroy went back and forth, toe to toe, in what could only be described in any of your favorite fight clichés. Early on the volume of Green seemed to affect the shorter Leroy’s timing, but when Leroy found his range, his power was evident as Green would immediately retreat from each power shot that landed. After a very close opening round the brawl only intensify in the second. As the round wore on Green started to find success with more frequency as Leroy seemed to tire. With about a minute to go Green uncorked a combination that rocked Leroy up against the cage. As he turned to escape, Green again battered him with vicious right hand dropping Leroy to the canvas. As Leroy covered up, Green continued his assault with heavy punches. Just when it appeared the referee was going to stop the fight, Leroy somehow made it back to his feet. However unfortunately for Leroy, the reward for his courage a nasty combination from Green that once again saw the fight on the mat. Sensing blood in the water Green swarmed, and this time referee Mike Beltran had seen enough, calling a halt to the action in a very memorable fight at  4:52 mark of the second round.

Winner New CXF Champion: Gabriel Green (9-2 MMA) via TKO (4:52 Rd 2).

 Fan favorite, IMSA GT Champion David Roberts (3-0 MMA) continued his undefeated rise through the middleweight rankings this time taking out veteran grappler Daniel McWilliams (18-39 MMA). McWilliams did his best to bring the fight to the mat, but Roberts was able to stuff both of McWilliams attempts before dropping the veteran with a nasty knee to the head. As McWilliams tried to recover, Roberts went to work dropping massive left and right hands to the side of his opponent’s head. With McWilliams clearly rocked and covering up the referee quickly stepped in preventing any further damage awarding Roberts his third victory in as many chances.

Winner: David Roberts via TKO (:45 Rd 1).

In the final bout of the evening The ‘Lil Badger’ Jacob Rosales (8-4 MMA) made quick work of big fight veteran Ivan Castillo (16-10 MMA). Rosales came out aggressive in the opening seconds and seemed to catch Castillo off guard with his speed. Rosales quickly established his striking and it didn’t take long for his punches to pay dividends. He dropped Castillo with nasty combination and immediately jumped on his neck. The choke was so deep and so vicious, the veteran Castillo had no choice but to submit.

Winner: Jacob Rosales (8-4 MMA) via submission (guillotine choke :29 Rd 1).

Richard LeRoy: Survive the Storm by Becoming The Storm

Thirty-seconds earlier, a confident Richard LeRoy awaited the opening bell in the biggest fight of his young career. During the introductions, LeRoy stared across the cage at his opponent before briefly acknowledging his fans. The moment for LeRoy had been a long time coming, and he seemed like he was ready for the challenge.

The thirty-seconds that immediately followed don’t exist for Leroy, because he has no memory of them. “Do you remember what happened?” LeRoy joked. His opponent that night Jalin Turner punched the time clock right on the pause button when he cracked LeRoy so hard and so often, the entire first 3 minutes turned into a blur. As LeRoy covered up on the ground, the thunderous shots echoed. He knew the referee was getting close to stopping the fight, and admittedly that was all he knew. Richard LeRoy still doesn’t remember what happened, but he sensed he was very close to losing everything he had worked so hard to regain. As all these thoughts ran through his head, and the referee approached all he could think was, “Im not fucking going out like this.”

Two years earlier, after a dramatic come from behind knockout win over Brandon Hastings, LeRoy began feeling discomfort in his right shoulder. Hastily he was initially diagnosed with an AC separation. Initially the arm was immobilized and a rehabilitation program would follow to facilitate the healing. Throughout his time off LeRoy kept training the best he could, using only his left arm. After the rehabilitation program was completed, the pain persisted. Following the advice of a friend with connections in the medical field, LeRoy was able to get an MRI which revealed a torn Labrum, an injury that would require immediate surgery and yet another extensive rehabilitation. While on the shelf, LeRoy watched as the promotion he called home crowned their first ever CXF lightweight champion. ” It is just a matter of time.” LeRoy thought to himself.

In a haze and in a heap, LeRoy somehow coherently realized he was about to lose everything he fought so hard to get back. It was that thought alone that inspired him to survive. A momentary reprieve in the assault by Turner would only make the next barrage seem that much more cruel. As again Turner sent LeRoy in search of level footing. Trying to find his equilibrium, LeRoy was rewarded with a nasty knee that again dropped him to the canvas.  Wobbling and in retreat for most of the round, LeRoy cleared the cobwebs and like a cornered dog he began snapping back. “Late in the round at one point, somehow I ended up in mount, and  that is when I really started to get my head clear.” LeRoy said. Finishing the round in top position, LeRoy appeared to have weathered the storm, but that was only the first round and the hell that greeted him 5 minutes earlier was again waiting for another encounter.

As the second round began, again Turner found success with his range, as he began to pepper LeRoy from angles the shorter fighter could only imagine. However this time LeRoy didn’t seem as effected as much as was in the previous round. Relentlessly he pressed forward and soon he began to break-down the range of Turner.  Finding some success on the inside, LeRoy began chopping down his longer opponent, but Turner obliged and kept the violent merry-go-round going. As the moments ticked by, the pendulum of momentum started to swing in LeRoy’s direction. “I remember dropping him with an inside leg kick, and I popped right into mount. I could see he was starting to get tired.” LeRoy said. Continuing his attack until the bell, a confident LeRoy went back to his corner thinking he had won the second. “I though for sure I won the round,” LeRoy said.

Drenched with sweat, referee Mike Beltran was long past exhausted and his normal jovial expression had hit the road sometime in the first round, in its place a stone like expression I’m glad to say I don’t know. The air was thick in the Burbank Marriott ballroom as the third round opened. Again the aggressor, LeRoy kept his foot on the gas. The more he pressed, the more his opponent began to slow. Late in the third round with Turner starting to fade, Leroy found himself in the top position. Sensing the end LeRoy looked to inspire the finish with some nasty ground and pound, punctuated effectively with elbows in between. The referee again came close, and after a few warnings from urging Turner to defend went unanswered the assault was stopped at 4:18 in the final round. Capping one of the best comebacks ever in the CXF cage.

The win earned LeRoy a spot in the semi final round for the CXF promotions ‘Cali Kings’ tournament. Putting him just one fight away from the title. However the epic war with Turner came at a cost, and due to injuries suffered in the fight LeRoy withdrew from the tournament. “I really wanted that title. When I was injured and I first saw the CXF belt I sort of already considered it mine,” LeRoy said with confidence.

After a three-month layoff that included a trip to Europe, LeRoy is back in the hunt for the CXF title. Standing across the cage this time in a lightweight title-eliminator will be the well-travelled and equally explosive Christian “The Beast” Aguilera. A well-rounded fighter  like LeRoy, Aguilera is an equal opportunity ass kicker. He can knock you into next week with one shot, or he can choke you to sleep. His dangerous skill set and hybrid pedigree is something LeRoy is well aware of; “Christian’s a tough dude, and he looked great in his last fight.” LeRoy said. “He is very good on his feet; a good striker, and he has great jiujitsu as well. The fight is going be a challenge for sure, but I will be ready.”

With the winner of the bout earning an immediate title shot at the conclusion of the ‘Cali Kings’ tournament, LeRoy once again finds himself just a few steps away from the title he coveted for so long.

Richard Leroy vs Brandon Hastings: Comeback of the Year?

In the main event of the Lights Out Promotions/Bash Boxing card in Studio City, two fan favorites went at it for nearly 14 minuted to the delight of the crowd. Utilizing superior movement, and an effective game plan Brandon Hastings clearly had the advantage on the score cards going into the third frame. Richard Leroy seemed to be baffled by Hastings movement, often lunging with punches that Hastings easily avoided and countered with ferocity.

Going in to the final round, Leroy was bloodied and bruised but still moving forward. Continually moving, Hastings  took control of the round and once again left Leroy guessing. About halfway through the round, Hastings began to slow slightly. Charging forward Leroy saw an opening inspired by Hastings hands being low, and dropped him with a lighting fast combination that felled Hastings. Hastings did his best to weather the storm, but referee John McCarthy was forced to call a stop to the bout.

The incredible finish left the raucous crowd spellbound. With the win, Richard ‘Mr” Leroy remains undefeated as a professional at 3-0. While in defeat an extremely tough Brandon Hastings falls to 3-2. Although the fight obviously weighed heavy on the fighter, it was nice to see a huge crowd of people remaining long after the event ended, just to support their friend. Hastings may have lost the fight, but he certainly did look impressive. A rematch may certainly be in order!

Lights Out Promotions and Bash Boxing held their weigh ins for Friday Nights Fight Night, and all the fights are now official. Richard Leroy and Brandon Hastings are set for the main event. The fights will begin promptly at 6:30. Tickets for this event will sell out. Last I heard there were still a few tickets available through the online portal, but they are almost gone!

Once again Bash Boxing and Lights Out Promotions have combined forces in order to create a hybrid night of combat that fans won’t soon forget. The Event takes place at The Sportsman Lodge in Studio City, California and features some of the best young fighters in the sport today.

Main Card:

Georgie Garcia ( 1-1 MMA, 10th Planet) vs Paul Amaro (3-3 MMA, NOC Fitness) 125lbs

Georgie Garcia is a very talented grappler who has fought in the past for King of The Cage. His opponent Paul Amaro is one tough dude! Amaro can take a ton of punishment, and prefers to stand and trade. The relentless pace that both of these fighters push makes this fight an early candidate for ‘Fight of the Night’. This early bout may end up being one of the most entertaining fights of the night!

Levon Sargsyan (0-1 MMA, GFC Fighting Club) vs Ron Henderson ( 3-2 MMA, Blackhouse MMA) 125 lbs

A few months ago Ron Henderson was an undefeated prospect making his Bellator MMA debut. Henderson lost that fight, and then a subsequent one for RFA. Now sitting at 3-2, Henderson is looking to return to his winning ways. In his way is Glendale’s Levon Sargsyan, who is also looking to stem the bleeding. Sargsyan never was able to get started in his pro debut, losing in just :32 seconds after being rocked by a head kick, he was dispatched with the follow up ground strikes. He simply got caught. This fight could end up being a battle of wills. Look for quick, heavy hands from both fighters!

Alfred Kashakyan (2-1 MMA, GFC Fighting Club) vs David Hernandez (1-1 MMA, Total Training Center) 145 lbs

This is a fight I am excited to see. Both fighters have good pedigrees, and both like to throw heavy punches. Hernandez is coming off a tough loss to talented prospect Chase Gibson, so he will be looking to right the ship after a stellar amateur career. Kashakyan is coming off a huge win over a very tough Cameron Harris, and hopes to add to his current 2 fight winning streak. Don’t blink, this one could end in a flash! Early candidate for ‘Knockout of The Night’.

Christopher Fajardo (1-0 MMA, Fight Academy) vs Ron Scolesdang (2-2 MMA, Team Oyama) 135 lbs

Fajardo is coming off an impressive TKO over Paul Amaro in his last fight, while Scolesdang is looking to right the ship after a tough split decision loss to ‘Ruthless’ Rudy Morales in his last bout. That fight was in October of 2013, so not only will Scolesdang have to battle Fajardo, but he will also have to knock off over a year of rust! Fajardo has excellent hand speed, and tremendous power for his division but in Scolesdang he may have found his equal. This is another candidate for ‘Fight of the Night’, but could also earn “Knockout of The Night” status as both guys throw with chin shattering force.

Matthew Spencer (1-0, HarQore HQ/The Yard/10th Planet) vs Justin Vasquez (3-7 MMA, LittleRock Wrestling) 185lbs

Matthew Spencer is one of the top 185 lbs prospects in the state. After a standout amateur career, Spencer turned pro and won his first fight in dominate fashion. However he showed one weakness, his wrestling defense. Vasquez, a wrestler could be the perfect opponent to expose this weakness. Vasquez will have to remain on his toes though, Spencer’s purple belt pedigree could end the fight from any position. This fight could be a candidate for ‘Submission of The Night’.

Mario Delgado (0-1 MMA, The Bodyshop) vs Casey Greene (2-1 MMA, Saekson Muay Thai)

Another candidate for ‘Knockout of The Night’. Mario Delgado is coming off two TKO losses in a row, which makes him very dangerous. A fighter backed into a corner, or hemmed in by losses can be like a cornered animal. Casey Greene will need to utilize his surgical striking to keep Delgado on his feet. Look for Delgado to ground the fight in search of a submission.

Jemyma Betrian (1-0 MMA, Glendale Fighting Club) vs Chandra Engel (0-2 MMA, Combative Arts) 115 lbs

After an extensive amateur career that saw mixed results, Engel turned pro and lost her first two fights. One of those losses was to Marina Shafir, who is teammates with her next opponent. Engel is looking for her first win as a pro, and in her way a kickboxing legend Jemyma Betrian. Betrian transitioned to MMA last year after amassing a ridiculous record as a kickboxer (35-2). Now training with ground aces Shafir, and UFC Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey at Glendale Fighting Club, a win over Engel could propel Betrian into the UFC’s burgeoning Strawweight division.

Co- Main Event: Jay Bogan (4-4 MMA) vs Jared Carlsten (3-2 MMA, Systems Training Center) 145lbs

Coming off two submission wins in a row the later by a very rare twister submission Jay Bogan is  making a name for himself as an ‘air taker’ and an ‘arm breaker’! After a four fight skid earlier in his career, Bogan appears to have reinvented himself as a mixed martial artist. He faces his toughest opponent yet in well rounded Jared Carlsten. Carlsten is looking to rebound after a tough split decision loss to Boostayre Nefarios (Marvin Eastman jr) in a fight that many observers had him winning! Carlsten is also an expert on the mat, and should this fight go to the ground, it could end up being a transition tango, that could lead to a lighting fast submission from no where!

Main Event:Richard Leroy (2-0 MMA, Sityodtong) vs Brandon Hastings (4-1 MMA) 155 lbs

Richard Leroy is a tremendously strong featherweight, with a durable chin. In his last fight Derrion Chapman tested his chin several times, only to have Leroy walk through his punches. Leroy ended up securing a choke midway through the 3rd round earning him his second win as a pro against no losses. His opponent Brandon Hastings brings some heavy hands along with a well rounded submission game.   Expect to see Leroy’s explosive thai striking early and often. Although it may take a second for these fighters to get comfortable, it should end up being an epic fire fight!

Right Hand Inspires the Plasma Shower!

Bash Boxing and Lights Out Promotions put on one hell of a show last night at Hollywood Fight Night 8. The event took place at the Florentine Gardens on Hollywood Blvd. Keeping with the spirit of Halloween several of the gorgeous ring card girls were dawning scantily clad costumes that at times made it difficult to watch the fights. After all, with a perfect ten dressed as a she devil, attentions tend to shift and quickly! In between the madness there were some pretty entertaining fights.

Several of the fighters were making their professional debuts. Although not well known names, these fellas gave all they had in the ring. On the boxing side of the card, Urmat Ryskeldiev (9-3-1) probably had the most impressive outing. Utilizing his superior speed, Ryskeldiev finished his opponent journeyman Bernardo Guereca (17-22-1) with a liver rattling shot on a level change. Once the referee surveyed the damage, the count wasn’t continued. Also winning via corner stoppage was Stanyslav Skorokhod (8-0). Skorokhod used his range to pick apart David Lopez (4-11-3) who proved to be too tough for his own good. After absorbing some heavy punishment the corner informed the inspector to “throw in the towel”, Now undefeated after 8 bouts a step up in competition is needed.

Former title contender Avtandil Khurtsidze (29-2-2) returned to form by systematically destroying perennial thorn Eddie Hunter in their 162 lbs bout. Khurtsidze led a charge throughout the fight behind his forehead, which caused many butts throughout the fight. Hunter early on gave as well as he received but eventually his combinations fell off, and instead looked for the home run shot that never came. Khurtsidze hammered the body of Hunter relentlessly and after it became apparent their was little he could do to swing the fight in his favor, the corner threw in the towel, giving Khurtsidze the TKO win.

The MMA portion of the card featured several of Southern California’s favorite sons including Derion Chapman, Richard Leroy, Thor Skancke, Daniel Clark, Dmitry Gerasimov, Bronson Casarez, Christian Bizaretty, Adel Al Tamimi, Gabriel Lopez, and Matthew Spencer.

Christian Bizaretty withstood an early attack from Adel Al Tamimi to earn a late first round TKO. Bizaretty once on the ground controlled Al Tamimi and reined down elbows from the mount prompting the stoppage from referee John McCarthy.

The same can be said of Tapout LA’s Matthew Spencer. His opponent Gabriel Lopez was able to suplex Spencer in WWF fashion, dropping him on the back of his head. However once the slam was completed, Spencer quickly recovered a hook, and immediately took the back. Lopez fought of a few armbar attempts, and a late choke, but eventually Spencer’s forearm slipped under the chin and his only choice was to tap or to sleep, he chose the earlier.

Bronson Casarez fighting out of Diamond MMA in Upland CA, on 5 days noticed outworked a very game Dmitry Gerasimov in what we thought was the best fight of the evening. Both fighters kept a furious pace, and threw defense to the wind in a classic brawl. When the score cards were read Casarez was declared the winner, however one score card read 30-27 giving Casarez every round. If you watched the fight there is no way this is possible. The guy who won probably should have, however I scored the bout the other way.

Even Ray Charles would have saw the third frame for Gerasimov. Once again the question is raised. What fight was that judge watching? The controversy despite its ridiculous judgement cannot shadow an amazing performance from a young fighter who has a bright future ahead of him. Casarez now 5-1 as a pro is back on track after a long layoff. Gerasimov’s stock also rises. Once again his reputation of putting on entertaining fights will continue to keep him relevant. Eventually a decision has to go his way.

House of Champions Derion Chapman, and Sityodtong LA’s Richard Leroy engaged in a heated bout that had the crowd on their feet the entire time.  Early on Chapman’s speed seem to give the much larger Leroy difficulty. Utilizing his jab, Chapman peppered Leroy blackening his eye, and causing a leak early. Leroy stayed patient and started to land some nasty dirty boxing late in the first round. In the second frame the power differential became more obvious as Leroy rocked Chapman several times. Once Leroy was able to ground Chapman’s lighting attack, he was able to secure a choke late in the 3rd round to ensure the win. Chapman whose size may see him down a weight class in the future, will certainly be heard from again.

Crowd favorite Thor Skancke took on a very tough Daniel Clark in the co-main event of the evening. Normally extremely aggressive, Skancke seemed hesitant early and that opened the door for Clark, who secured it shut with some vicious punches. The win brings Clark’s record as a pro to the left side of .500 at 3-2. The impressive first round stoppage over a well known fighter will raise Clark’s stock dramatically, while Skancke will have to return to the gym to continue to refine his craft.

Bash Boxing And Lights Out Promotions Weigh Ins: All Fighters On Weight And Ready To Scrap!

“Hollywood Fight Night 8” Weigh Ins confirm a fight card that is certain to entertain. All fighters were on weight, and bouts were made official as an evening of blended disciplines takes place at Florentine Gardens October 30th, with the first fight starting at 7 pm. The weigh ins were streamed live courtesy of Pugilpix.com

Promoters George Bastmajyan and Steve Bash have blended a a combat sports brew that is one part boxing, one part mixed martial arts, and three parts kick-ass action. This violent concoction is certain to leave the crowd punch-drunk and screaming for more.

Lights Out Promotions in association with Bash Boxing present an evening of combat sports, that will showcase both Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts. Together the two respected promotional powerhouses have decided to join forces, on the night before Halloween to display some of the best local talent in both respective sports.

The Lights Out Promotions team has brought in their tremendous knowledge of MMA and married that to one of the best known boxing promotions in Southern California. This union is certain to spawn an evening of exciting fights.

The MMA Portion of the card features:

Thor Skancke vs Daniel Clark

Richard Leroy vs. Derrion Chapman

Dmitry Gerasimov vs. Bronson Casarez

Matthew Spencer vs. Gabe Lopez

Adel Altamimi vs Christian Bizaretty

The boxing portion of the evening is set to include former IBO Middleweight Champion Avtandil “Tornado“ Khurtsidze (28-2-2, 17KOs), Wildcard Boxing Club Light Middleweight Urmat Ryskeldiev (9-3-1, 5KOs), undefeated Lightweight Luis Sedano (3-0, 1KO), and two boxers making their professional debuts, Lightweight Davon Smith and Bantamweight Juan Roman.

Everyone has plans for Halloween, well now you have plans for the night before as well! Lights Out Promotions in association with Bash Boxing is proud to present another night of mixed discipline warfare on October 30th at the Florentine Gardens. The event will showcase a combination of boxing and mixed martial arts fights. The “Fight Night” series always delivers a great night of action, and this Halloween eve will be no different!

The card will feature some of the areas most popular young mixed martial artists including:

Thor Skancke  vs. Daniel Clarke

Eric Winston  vs. Dmitry Gerasimov

Richard Leroy  vs. Derion Chapman

Marcos Bonilla vs. Adel Al Tamimi

Cooper Gibson  vs. Jay Bogan

Skancke, is coming off a huge win at “Chaos At The Casino 5” where he defeated Matt Hagge via impressive KO in the third round of their back and forth war. Known throughout Southern California for his aggressive style, Skancke will be looking to build off the victory to create a winning streak. In  his way is jujitsu ace Daniel Clark. Clark is looking to build off his last performance, a win over Bobby Sanchez, however it has been over a year since he has fought according to Sherdog.com. If so, he will have to battle the “ring rust” as well.

Also featured on the MMA portion of the card is Systems Training Center’s Dmitry Gerasimov.  Besides his formerly fantastic beard, Gerasimov is perhaps best known for his epic battle against Chinzo Machida at RFA 15. The fight saw Gerasimov attacking the heavily favored Machida the entire fight. Although he came up short via decision the bout was a highlight real of exchanges as both fighters showcased their superb striking skills. Gerasimov will be taking on a very tough Eric Winston who went the distance against BAMMA USA champion Terrion Ware, although he came up short in the decision.

Popular 145 lbs local Marcos Bonilla will be looking for his first win as a pro as he faces off with Kyokyshin karate expert Adel Altamimi, Richard Leroy will be looking for his 2nd win as a pro when he squares off with Derion Chapman. Chapman is undefeated as an amateur and will be making his highly anticipated debut.  SoCal fight veterans Cooper Gibson faces Jay Bogan to round out the MMA portion of the card!
